Is Your Data More Complex?

Your chart can show more than one level of categories. For example, you might need to show divisions within regions for your company. Or you might be creating a chart from a filtered list or from data with subtotals. Like other charts, the chart is updated when the source data changes.

Create a chart from a PivotTable   Some of your worksheet data may be in the form of a PivotTable (an interactive worksheet table that summarizes large amounts of data). You can use a PivotTable as the source data for a chart. For more information on PivotTables, see Create a Sales Summary.
