Assigned task symbol
You want to delegate one of your tasks to your assistant. In Tasks, double-click the task icon to open the task, and then click Assign Task (Task menu). In the To box, type your assistants name.
When you assign a task to someone else, the information is sent to that person in an e-mail message. The symbol next to the task in your task list changes to indicate that it has been assigned to someone else. You can no longer change information in that task, but you can keep a copy of the task.

How do you
know if the task is accepted? After you assign
the task, you receive an e-mail message from the
recipient, indicating whether (s)he accepts or declines
the task. What if the recipient declines the task? You own the task again, and you can update the information in it. You can keep the task or assign it to someone else. Delegate a task as you create it Click New Task Request (Tasks menu) to create and assign a task not already on your task list. Want to rearrange the way tasks are displayed in your task list? Select a different view from the Current view list. For more information, see Customize the Way You Display Information. |
